Nutara NV commences landmark contract in India

Nutara secured the contract for the first Enhanced Reactive Thermal Oxidation project in India. The plant will eliminate the sulfur emissions from the Uran complex of the Oil and Natural Gas Company (ONGC) of India. This complex is the largest oil and gas treatment plant of ONGC.
Nutara NV will be responsible for the design, construction and operation and maintenance of the facility. The plant will use Nutara’s proprietary Enhanced Reactive Thermal Oxidation technology. This Best Available Technology will eliminate the sulfur emissions to below the legal limits – resulting in a 99.5% reduction of the emissions – with minimal use of natural resources.
The ground breaking ceremony or Bhumi Pooja was held on 27 July in the presence of Mr. Peter Huyghebaert, Consul General of the Consulate of Belgium in Mumbai, Mr. S.K. Pandey, Executive Director and Plant Manager of ONGC Uran, Mr. Narendra Asija,, Group General Manager and incoming Plant Manager and Mr. Marcel Goemans, Managing Director of Nutara NV.
Pre-construction activities have commenced and the plant will be operational in August 2017. The project will be executed by Europem India Pvt Ltd with support from the parent company in Belgium.
This project constitutes a major breakthrough for Nutara in India and builds on other recent accomplishments including the Thermal Oxidation plant for CAIRN India Ltd at Aishwariya oilfield in Rajasthan and a Sulfur Recovery Unit project for Numaligarh Refinery Ltd with Engineers India Ltd.
