Purpose of the position
Responsible for the designing , implementing, controlling and optimizing industrial processes.

Reports to the Lead Engineer and Management.
Job brief
We are looking for an experienced Process Engineer who is responsible for process design and follow-up of all process related items during complete project execution. (Feasibility studies, basic engineering, detailed engineering, commissioning and start-up)
Detailed process design of combustion systems including elevated flares, ground flares, gas and liquid incinerators, thermal oxidizers, ATEX zone-0 systems and energy from waste plants.
Basic process design of steam boilers and flue gas cleaning systems (DeNOx, SNCR, SCR, scrubbers, bag house filters, …)
Working in close cooperation with other engineering disciplines (Electrical and Instrumentation, Control and Automation, Mechanical, ……)
Responsibilities and duties
- Responsible for preparation and management of process documentation
- Creating material and energy balances, process flow diagrams, P&ID’s
- Providing process data for equipment and instrumentation datasheets
- Equipment sizing
- Line sizing and pressure drop calculations
- Development of detailed process descriptions
- Process risk assessment and development of Cause & Effect diagrams
- Providing input for process control philosophy and functional descriptions
- Participation in design reviews and HAZOP meetings
- Commissioning and start-up, trouble shooting and finetuning of combustion systems
- Development of process simulation, design and calculation spreadsheets (MS Excel)
- Support of sales department with proposal preparation and technical clarifications
- Support of CFD modelling engineer by providing process input and interpretation of CFD models
Profile
Education
- Master of Science in Chemical Engineering
- Master of Industrial Sciences: (Process) Chemistry
- Other technical profiles with experience in chemical process technology and/or combustion systems will also be considered
Basic Requirements
- Affinity with main process parameters: flow, temperature, pressure
- Cross-discipline interests (E&I, Automation, mechanical, …)
- Analytical and problem solving
- Good knowledge of MS Excel is a must
- Knowledge of CFD modelling and interpretation is a plus
- Knowledge of process simulation software (Apen, ChemCad, HSC Chemistry,…) is a plus
- Open for international traveling for short periods of tim
