The Andicos® (ANDICOS: ANaerobic DIgestion by Combining Organic and Sewage Waste) process takes a radically different approach to wastewater treatment and organic waste management. The Andicos® process uses a novel combination of proven technology. Indeed, domestic waste water is combined with organic domestic waste either at source (households) or at the treatment facility for a combined treatment process. Focus is on simultaneously ensuring environmental protection and resource recovery from waste. The Andicos® process is unique because it uses the synergies between waste water treatment and organic waste management to generate power whilst traditional processes consume power to achieve the same (see chart below).
